I've used the Canon Powershot V1 for vlogging mainly in manual mode (auto iso). But with vlogging + manual mode, i always have to be aware of over/under exposure, aperture, etc. And always being wary of each shot slows me and my entire workflow down.

I hear a whole lot of good things of using Auto mode with the V1. What's your guys' experience with using Auto mode in this way? Any tips or things learned when shooting this way?

Note: i don't care too much about video quality (ok with grandiant bands since Auto shoots 8 bit color). I'll accept that tradeoff over efficiency of filming without worrying about exposure, etc. which is what Auto is advertised to do.
