How to read a Bed Mesh?

How to read a Bed Mesh?

I have seen information about Bed leveling and I have STLs for spacers that I can use on a Creality K1Max to help level it as long as I use a higher temperature filament to make them. I just want to make sure that I am reading this information correctly before I get myself in big trouble.

My back left corner is significantly higher than it should be, over 1.7mm.

My front right corner is lower than it should be, under .33mm

If its like construction projects the other corners will have to be tackled as I dial in the two extremes.

I also assume that if the distance is too large that I wont be able to get by with just spacers and that I will have to calibrate the bed. K1s look like they have a release mechanism that I can use to add slack to the system and then manually raise and lower the bed to get it within a "spacerable" range.

Does that sound right or is this information telling me something different?

Too much tension on Space Pi x4 feed

There is a lot of tension in the PTFE feeding line, I was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice. I just ordered a wider PTFE tube, going up to 2.5mm Inner Diameter and 4.0mm Outer Diameter. I have tried running it out of the back and the front and havent noticed a difference. Right now I am trying to get it to work to come out of the front/top

Suspicions that I have:

  • The rollers are too stiff. When I pull the filament myself it seems smooth enough but I am a little bigger than the extractor on the K1Max.
  • The pathway inside the heater for the filament. This might sound incredibly stupid but I am not sure how the filament is supposed to roll. When I have the spool on the back of the K1, it rolls "over the top". Should the spool be pulling the filament from the "bottom" or the "top".
  • The positioning of the two machine is causing a problem. I have the K1 on the ground to remove any vibrations or balancing and the Pi x4 is right behind the printer and above it. I have a little shelf that it is sitting on top so that I can open the lid.

I did do a test yesterday where I opened the lid and ran the filament to the original like 12 inch feed line and did a print. Which worked fine until the filament ran out and the sensor wasnt catching it because the tension increased at the end of the roll because there was a snag on the spool. The open lid approach makes me think that the rollers themselves are okay.

I am almost exclusively working in PLA and I am almost at the point where I am going to back to the original setup and just use the dryer for my active roll, get the humidity out of it and then move it onto the back of the K1. When I am printing I am going through a roll every week or two so that might be a good interim solution if I cant get this tension working right.

Home flooring for powered wheelchair

Our 13 year old son has been using a power chair for the last 6 years, both a Permobil F3 and a Quantum Stretto Edge 3, and we have learned that the carpet in our house, and especially in his room, needs to go.

We have talked with a couple installers about what to replace it with but they dont have any first hand experience with what would work best.

Any recommendations on what to replace our 30 year old carpet with to make it more wheelchair friendly and maintainable?
