FortiGate Transparent Proxy Policy

Hi, we use Transparent Proxy Policies for destination FQDN's only, but I can't really understand why would we do it if we can just stay with the IPv4 Firewall Policy and apply all security profiles there.

Can someone explain the differences in behaviors? as traffic needs to match the IPv4 Policy first anyway and I can't see any real benefit just management overhead.

Hi all, I did some Deep research using Google Gemini and provided him with my workflow, applications I need to run etc. to see what is the best option for me to buy a PC.

I mainly do Docker and Containers, GNSS3/EVE-NG, VMware, DevOps, running multiple nodes, programming etc.

With that in mind, I need a strong PC regarding multi-core/threaded CPU, 32GB RAM at least in general.

This is what he suggested:

Component Option 1: Intel Core i7-14700 Option 2: AMD Ryzen 9 7900
Cores / Threads 20 Cores (8P+12E) / 28 Threads 12 Cores / 24 Threads
Motherboard Gigabyte B760 AORUS ELITE AX ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WIFI
RAM 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 32GB DDR5 6000MHz (AMD EXPO)
Storage WD Black SN850X 2TB Gen4 Samsung 980 500GB + Crucial P5 Plus 1TB
GPU NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB
PSU Seasonic FOCUS GX-750W 80+ Gold Corsair RM750e 750W Gold
Estimated Price 2,270 - 2370 USD 2,230 - 2,300 USD

I'm thinking about going with the AMD Architecture option because it doesn't seems like an overkill for my needs but an exact utilization, and I understood it is more energy efficient and provides better upgrade options in the future.

I'd like to get some human advice, thanks!
