Djooni: identifying tracks in DJ sets when they're played faster or slower

Hi — I'm an amateur DJ and a software engineer with a background in audio fingerprinting. I kept spending hours Shazaming SoundCloud and YouTube sets one track at a time, especially struggling with tracks played well away from their original speed.

I built Djooni to identify tracks across a whole set and put names to the music I was hearing. It accepts SoundCloud, YouTube, and Mixcloud links and produces a tracklist with clickable timestamps. I wrote the fingerprinting engine from scratch with large changes in playback speed in mind.

Here's Mira's Recognise 114 set as an example. Two matches from the result:

  • 34:55 — Brunello — Not For Sale (Original Mix): estimated +13% speed change.
  • 1:16:29 — DJ ADHD, Chloé Robinson, DumbBlonde — Last Night (Extended): estimated −10% speed change.

You can click the timestamps to hear those tracks in Mira's set. Saving a track also keeps the set and timestamp attached, so you can return to where you heard it.

There are still gaps, and automated matches can be wrong. Coverage depends on the catalog; Djooni keeps checking as it grows and emails you when it finds more IDs for your sets.

It's a paid service. New scans require an account and a plan: free trial, then $8/month for five new scans a week or $20/month for unlimited scans. Your card is charged after the trial unless you cancel. Pricing details.

If you've got a stubborn ID from a SoundCloud, YouTube, or Mixcloud set, share the link and timestamp here. I'm happy to try a few and share what Djooni finds, including where it gets stuck.
