Studying at aber

Hi all! I’m thinking of applying here for mental health nursing for 2027 start. Just wanted to know how everyones finding it and whether you think its worth it. I understand they’ll be much less to do than a city but I don’t really mind that. I’m also gay and was wondering if theres much homophobia here as I know smaller towns can be less excepting sometimes. Anyone doing nursing and know if the placements are alright here too? Thanks!

Advice on whether to commute or not

Hi all! I’m currently in my last year of college and am starting my ucas application for mental health nursing and need some advice on what to do. I’m in a very privileged position where my mum can afford to help me out at uni. MH nursing gives a £6000 grant each year that I don’t need to pay back on top of maintenance loans. Due to only taking 2.5 a levels I need to go to a uni that takes based on tariff points, I’m currently predicted at 112 points which is enough for nursing thankfully.

Option A -> Go to liverpool john moores which i loved but take out loans for my tuition fees. My mum will pay my accommodation but I’m correct in assuming that I may as well take a maintenance loan if i’m taking student loans? I will have £11K to spend each year which would obviously be too much so would save a selection each year to go on a down payment for a house and would get to experience the full uni life but would be in a lot of student debt (45K after my degree)

Option B -> Commute to Nottingham Trent (42minute drive) or a Birmingham Uni (30min drive) stay at home, and have my mum cover my tuition fees instead of accommodation. Use my grant to pay for my travel and money to live off. Pros is I avoid any student debt but con is I have to commute which I think might be a bit miserable.

Option C -> Go to uni in wales where the NHS pays tuition fees for nurses and gives a 1K grant a year to live off as long as you work in wales for 2 years. Have my mum pay the accommodation and would probably help me out with food. Pros -> avoid commuting and debt. Cons -> I would have to go to wrexham or Aberystwyth which don’t seem to have much on and would need to work in wales for 2 years after my degree.

I’ve only just turned 18 and it feels like a really big decision so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Entry for adult nursing

Hi all! Im currently going into year 13 (my 2nd year at college) and I want to apply for adult nursing. Im currently taking 2 a levels (psychology and politics) and am predicted 2 A’s in them. I am also taking a btec certificate in health and social care (this is worth half an a level) and am predicted around a distinction in that, so overall i am at 120UCAS points. I also meet all gcse requirements. What unis realistically can I apply too? Ive tried looking on their websites but because I’m only taking 2.5 a levels a lot of them are centered around 3 a levels. Do i have a shot at a good uni with my qualifications or is it maybe better to do an access year? Any help would be appreciated!

Extreme fatigue on accutane

Hi, I started accutane about 4days ago, 40mg a day at 56KG. After 4 weeks im meant to go to 60mg a day. I haven’t had many side effects except my skin pealing slightly, achey joints and a few headaches but I literally could barely keep my eyes open today. I must have slept about 16 hours and was still tired. Is this normal? Will it stay like this or is my body just getting used to accutane?

Patch 13.00

As initiators cooldowns are being moved to 50s, will these also reverse the sentinel and astra cooldowns to 50s done in patch 11.09? or are they still fucked?
