Navy vs. AF

Hello all, I’m currently in the process of joining the AF reserves but I recently learned a lot about the navy reserves that really peaked my interest. I’m wondering if the cross-assignments are really as interesting as they make it sound online or does that rarely happen. I like the fact that I could travel somewhere quarterly. Also, from what I understand there is a lot of opportunity for volunteer deployments at different lengths of time that could get me some of the benefits quicker like the VA home loan. From what I understand, a lot of this isn’t offered as much in the AF. So I want to get someone’s take on it thats in the Navy Reserves. I’m just waiting on a waiver for the AF but I’ve already talked with a Navy recruiter and they said my waiver would be approved within a couple weeks. So tempting.

Question on waivers

I’m in the process of waiting to hear about my waivers. I have a moral waiver for public intox 7+ years ago. And was temporarily treated for only 6 months for anxiety. That was 2 years ago. What is the success rates for these waivers? I’m 34 and going reserves (hopefully). Should I start getting together a plan B? Everything else at MEPS went fine and I have pretty good asvab scores. With the waivers, I’ve submitted everything possibly imaginable that my recruiter asked for along with like 8 character references.

Any insight on this?

Opened the app and was surprised to see that I’m supposed to ship in 2 weeks and a job had been selected. Only problem is, I haven’t signed a contract, sworn in, and still waiting on medical and moral waivers to clear lol I’m reserves. Has anyone had this happen?

Did anyone receive this?

Anyone receive this email regarding their application? I’m desperately trying to get Dallas, TX because my wife refuses to move. I understand it’s a difficult location to get but should I just reach out and say I’m open to other locations just to move my application faster? And then try to trade later on?
