Skylight self describes their $300 Smart Calendar as an "older IOT device"

I was having trouble trying to troubleshoot why our brand new Skylight calendar was not connecting to the internet. I found out that it worked if I downgraded to WPA2 security. Unfortunately, my work computer will not run on a WPA2 network. In talking with support this expensive device was described as an "older IoT device". What a joke.

Skylight Connectivity Issues and Lack of WPA3 Support

Here's a tip if you're not able to connect to WiFi: My wife was not able to get the new skylight calendar to connect to WiFi so I assisted with some troubleshooting. I found that it connected when I switched my Wifi security from WPA3 to WPA2. If the skylight is truly incompatible with WPA3 then that is a huge oversight, shortfall, whatever you want to call it because now I have to sacrifice better security on my entire network, for one single device that is not compatible with a security protocol that came out 8 years ago. Do better skylight, this should be one of your highest priorities.
