AP Fault Zone Houses

We saw a house we really liked in Hayward. Turns out it is on the AP fault zone. Not being a Bay Area native, I was wondering if someone here could help me understand and navigate this. Some of the questions I had were:

  • is there a discount applied to houses in the zone.
  • what’s the risk factors if I don’t see any signs of structural damage to the house today.
  • map shows that it is not exactly on the fault. does that make any difference?
  • assuming that the house is retrofitted, is that good enough?
  • would you make the purchase assuming that you dont mind the neighborhood?
