Low dose radiation

I see radiation centers offering series of low dose treatments for arthritis. Has anyone tried it or is familiar with it?

Less lantern flies this year?

I’ve not killed or seen nearly as many in my New Rochelle backyard this year? Mosquitoes are plenty. What about you?

Do physical therapists know anything?

I’ve been to two different PT’s this week. While they seem knowledgeable and can diagnose, they all want to unlock my tight, tight hip and thigh muscles. I’ve got MRI’s and reports showing severe stenosis, arthritis and degenerative disc at L3-5 pinching nerves. I stupidly allowed them to work on my muscles - ok at the time. But the resulting nerve pain is excruciating and I can barely walk. Can’t they give help and direction without hurting me worse? What’s your experience?

SI Joint Dysfunction

After a year and a half of chasing the proper diagnosis, I return to my original thought about my pain, my sciatica and my nearly disability at this point. I’m a 74 year old part time exercise instructor in pretty good shape except that I can hardly walk, live without pain killers etc. I’ve had to give up my more active classes for the summer. I’ll be starting Pilates physical therapy in early August. Yesterday an X-ray ruled out hip arthritis as the root cause. And the surgeon said it’s SI joint l4-5 arthritis and stenosis. I’ve known my sacrum is twisted wrongly for a long time with many doctors not noticing or doing anything other than prescribing pain killers and to visit the surgeon again. It’s SI joint dysfunction. I’m really disgusted with so much of mainstream medicine and had to sort this out myself. Anyone been through similar?

Post epidural

Wow, the second day was great. Now I’m on day six in a very painful and stiff flare of back pain, hip pain (small labrum tear) and leg pain. Does everyone experience this post procedure?

How to compress space in current 1,910 sq. Ft. Home

Any suggestions on compressing space other than close off a room, close off part of unfinished basement? I’ve got no kids, just a wonderful nephew trustee, and a husband who refuses to consider smaller one floor spaces. There are 4 TV’s, 3 turntables, bookshelves that are easy to clear etc. We almost moved to affordable Amish PA near a nephew two years ago. Last minute, husband freaked out. Stairs are more difficult for me now. I need to downsize and organize in current home in overpriced NY suburb where moving within the area almost does not make sense. Thank you 🙏

How do I bathe when warm shower or warm (almost) cold bath sends me into spasms when I get out?

I have pinched lumbar nerve and a tear or two in my hip which I’m hoping to get help with soon. My orthopedist has taken a year saying it’s all sciatica when it’s not. Any suggestions about staying humanly clean? Thank you.

Labrum tear and blunting

Also have pinched nerve at L3/4. Has anyone has micro surgery to repair the tear? Has anyone gotten this tear situation fixed? My doctor never mentioned what the MRI says. In fact, he said I have no tear and maybe I think I should start all over with another orthopedist. Thank you.

During my second attempt to find a church home, having chrismated rapidly 16 months ago at a Slavic church, today the same thing happens but in Greek, not Ukrainian. I ask permission to seat myself at coffee hour, I get a cold reception almost like “it’s a free country…” then everyone proceeds to speak in Greek knowing full well I’m a newcomer and I speak English. They know how to speak English but don’t. Eventually my seat is needed by another Greek or more, so I leave the table and have my own coffee hour in the hall. It’s so rude. Orthodox are the most unwelcoming people I’ve ever met. On the drive home after a 2.5 hour service, I was thinking I’ve only found another cult I must be an idealist I should leave after Divine Liturgy. This is not the church I want to age in. The chancellor just told us that the church is our chosen family. 😳
