How to Make a Grown Man Cry

How to Make a Grown Man Cry

Taken during the year Australia decided to turn over their weapons. Hurts just to look at it. I hear crime is on the uptick ever since. Happy Fourth Everyone.

The Nylon 66 Wins Again

We took four 22s out to the range yesterday. Three were scoped and the 66 never needed one. Sure enough she won again (CCI 36g). That rifle in unbelievably accurate and bone-stock. Serial number on this one is from November of 1984. Everyone have a great weekend.

Not a "type" just a story

My stepfather, a Deputy Sheriff back when the revolver rode the hips of lawmen never cleaned his service weapon, ever. I asked why? He said "Stainless steel is stainless steel, you do not have to clean them, just wipe them off. That's what I carry stainless." Well I never agreed with him on that topic. I've always been of a mind that if you expect it to work, you should be maintained/PM to "new" status. Well today it rained and so on this Memorial Day I took the stainless ones out and wipe'd them down thinking of the old man a Nam Vet. Stainless is much easier to care for, I'll give him that one. Everyone have a great weekend.

Why I don't have a WASR...

From yesterday's post: Milled type 56, wood furniture from Ironwood Designs before they closed. This is essentially what we carried in Panama back in 90 chasing Noriega as our A-1s could not handle the jungle environment. The only time the A-1 didn't jam, was on TV was the joke. These T-56 AKs were bullet proof, shoot under water, caked with mud, used as a shovel and they fired all-damned-day (AND were fully auto). I'll never be without one. If you can obtain one of these, get it. Bakelite optional... and stamped receiver is fine. I like the additional heft of the milled. The wood is African Momosa. I have a few of them, this is the "pretty" one / safe queen.
