Another cautionary tale about Canada Computers
So quick backstory, my work laptop trackpad was acting kinda funny so I cleaned the outside of the computer. That fixed the trackpad issue but I had not cleaned the inside of the laptop since my workplace bought the laptop a little over 2 years ago. We had a 3 year tech repair care that included yearly cleanings of the laptop and diagnostics.
So I decided to take the laptop in to Canada Computers to get cleaned. When I get to cc I’m met with a guy who just does customer service and I explain what I want done. I’m told it will take 2 days and I came back 2 days later and picked up the laptop.
This time the customer service guy is not friendly at all and he just hands me the laptop without saying a word. I ask if everything is working fine and he tells me very rudely yea yeah it’s fine, like he wanted to get me out the door asap. I’m on my way to work and don’t really think much of it. I grab the laptop to put it in my bag and head to work.
I get to work and notice that one of the corners of the laptop is chipped, I can literally see inside the computer because the hole is about 1 cm big. Laptop works fine so far but really strange to damage the laptop and not even mention anything when I picked it up.
I looked at the repair disclaimer form and it had this legal language saying that any damage from repairs is not their fault.
Really disappointed in the situation and the fact I can’t do anything about it. Hopefully people here have had better experiences with Canada computers.
