Advice for bringing a tent for hiking in central america
Hey everyone. My partner and I have been travelling around South America for the last 4 months and have brought a tent from home which we have used many times for self-guided hikes and at campsites as cheap accomodation. We are meeting up with a friend from home soon and then will be continuing on to Central America. We are wondering whether it’s worth bringing the tent to Central America as well or whether we should send our camping gear home with our friend (planning on travelling to Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica). Are there many hikes you can do self guided/ is it safe to hike self-guided? Do you think having our own tent would be valuable? lightening our packs would obviously be great but we want to make sure we won’t miss the tent!
Thanks
