help! color is sooo light and not splitting!
when wet (the darker photo of the bag, it looks decent, but dried it just looks faded 😭 (the small dots are rain drops, just wanted to show bag in outside lighting) i’m making these for charity, 47! of them, the bags were given to me by the organizer they are from amz and claim to be 100 cotton but the handles definitely are not 😑
here are my steps:
Synthrapol wash
soda ash soak 2cups / 2gallons for about four hours and wrung out
my dye colors are dharma split dyes 64 ORCHID and 76 WEDGEWOOD BLUE
im guessing that i probably put too much as the dyes did not split barely at all.
but now they are dry they are just sooo washed out 😭 how do i get the color more vibrant and have them split? open to ice dye and crystal/low immersion dyeing.
also it was very hot during this dyeing process, but will be cooler for the next few days
i am looking for a nice abstraction with beautiful moments. is it possible the bags are not cotton or can i help get more vibrant. i have a lot of them to make that are needed to be ready in 11days. buying new bags is not an option.
