Is $380k per employee good?

I run a boutique search firm in the technical / engineering space. As we've been growing I'm wanting to understand how much revenue per employee we should be billing to be average, above average or elite?

Currently we are averaging $380k per person.

I'm looking to increase this by raising prices for new searches as we're often at or near capacity at any given time.

Is $380k good? How high are elite level teams?

How effective are ads for small service businesses?

Currently run a boutique tech / executive search business. Mainly work with venture startups looking to hire engineers, or other technical roles in major US metro cities.

Currently all of my business pipeline comes from our network or referrals, but would like to have an engine that can occasionally bring us new leads organically.

For a business like this, what would our results realistically look like and at what cost?

What to buy a water house

Currently have a net worth of $5.5M. Own a $1.1M house with $450k in equity with no other debts.

Yearly expenses around $140k-$200k.

Started business a few years ago that's now starting to do very well and I'm forecasting to have a $1M net income year. Before starting the business my W2 income was closer to $500k.

I'd like to retire early on at least $350k pre-tax income.

My plan is to get to a net worth of around $12M-13M and buy a water house for 2.5M-3M for all or mostly cash leaving around $10M left over and then retiring and living off the gains.

Is this plan sustainable?
