If you moved, what gear would you sell, and what would be non-negotiable to bring?

What is up everyone... Welcome to the Targeted Talk... where we take a topic pertinent to the home gym owner and do what we do best... spend way too much time thinking about and talking about it!

This week’s discussion is all about if you moved, what gear would you sell, and what would you bring with you?

Feel free to think through this question however you want... moving to a different house, different state, different country, you name it...

Examples - My plates were picked up by my wife, I cleaned em, painted em, and they are mine forever. But just about everything else could be sold and re-bought in a new location.

If you had to pack up your things, do you have anything in your gym that you absolutely must keep? Tell us why.

Bonus Points if you tell us what you'd sell, but instantly re-buy in your new location.

Live Kinetically on Athletic Applications, Isokinetics, and more

I shared the first episode I did with Coach Kassem of N1 Education and it was well received. Got a little busy between then and now, but just stopped Episode 2 with Dan from Live Kinetically.

Dan trains athletes, average people, even grandmas, as well as himself on the VOLTRAs alongside a pretty stacked gym.

We dive into a lot of how he uses them, the various modes, even chat about some Ninja Warrior stuff.

Hope this helps. I've got more coming and the goal is a new episode every month.

Favorite Rack Attachments

What is up everyone... Welcome to the Targeted Talk... where we take a topic pertinent to the home gym owner and do what we do best... spend way too much time thinking about and talking about it!

This week’s discussion is all about Rack Attachments.

Rack Attachments range from the basics like j-cups and safeties, to cable set-ups, rack pads, drop in benches, landmines and more.

You can go from a rack ready to heavy lifts, to a rack that is more of a frankenstein all-in-one do everything with a blink of an eye.

So today we want to know what rack attachments are...

  • Necessary?
  • Stupid?
  • On Your Wishlist?
  • Cool But Not For You?

And anything else you need to consider when buying a Rack Attachment.

Share what has worked for you, what hasn’t, and what you would do differently if you were starting from scratch. If applicable, include specific brands, models, or setups you recommend (or suggest avoiding), and explain why. Bonus points for photos, creative solutions, or lessons learned the hard way.

Let’s get into the details and help each other build better gyms. **and... Go!**

SC2 Stair Climber Arrived

Disclaimer - FED Fitness sent me the SC2 Stair Climber for free for sake of review and I have an affiliate relationship with them. I take high quality photos because I use these in my videos and website, but do not get paid for any posts.

We've been trying to lock down our cardio corner in the backyard for awhile. Had a few flops in equipment, but kept hunting. My daughter is a weirdo and kept asking for us to get a Stair Climber. Problem is that a lot of them don't navigate well through and in a normal house.

Low ceilings, small doors, etc. makes for difficult set ups. STEPR offers a few options but we've had bad experiences with them as a company, so we steered clear. This one popped up and I measured about 5 different times before committing.

The process to get it into the backyard was... interesting. But I got there. If I had waited for my buddy it would have been easier, but wheres the fun in that?
Assembly is super simple. The monitor works well and is nice and basic. It so far has been steady for my 6ft 250lb frame, but also accessible for my 72 year old mom, my wife, you name it. Small hiccup for my daughter, you need to meet a minimum weight rating of around 100lbs, so she has to wear a weighted vest for now.

We'll be doing a full review on this in a few months, so if you have any questions, comments, feedback, let me know. I always come back to the comments before finalizing reviews to make sure I've answered all the questions. So this is very helpful.

Do you color-coordinate your home gym equipment or go purely functional?

What is up everyone... Welcome to the Targeted Talk... where we take a topic pertinent to the home gym owner and do what we do best... spend way too much time thinking about and talking about it!

This week’s discussion is all about whether you care about the little things, or not. Are

Whether you're just starting your home gym journey or refining a well-established setup, this is one of those topics that doesn't have a right or wrong answer. Westside Barbell is well known for being one of the baddest gyms on the planet and not giving a crap about what equipment looks like. Some of the most INSANE bodybuilding gyms on the planet have different rooms for lighting. So you can go in either direction and still chase down gains.

So the question is... Are you focused on the finer details, color coordinated, picture perfect, and aesthetically pleasing... Or does it just need to work?

Bonus points for photos, creative solutions, or lessons learned along the way in your own home gym journey.
