25M | 177cm | 126kg → 101kg in ~5.5 Months — Still 20–25kg To Go

Been lurking on this sub for a while and finally decided to share my journey.
I’m 177cm tall and started my weight loss journey on 12th December 2025 at around 125kg+. Currently close to the 100kg mark, so roughly 25kg down in around 5.5 months. Still have another 20–25kg left to lose before I reach where I want to be physically.

I’ll attach my InBody scans as proof, although I only started properly tracking them from February onwards. Looking back, I wish I had started tracking earlier because it helped a lot during phases where the scale wasn’t moving much.

A little context — I was never someone who liked taking medicines or experimenting with things easily. I was actually very skeptical about GLP-1s initially and used to think they were just shortcuts people used for rapid weight loss.

Eventually after struggling with obesity, food noise, binge eating tendencies, and repeatedly losing/regaining weight, I decided to properly research things and consult medically before starting. I initially used Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) and later switched to Retatrutide.

And honestly, before people say it’s “cheating,” I get why some think that way because I used to think similarly too. But after experiencing it myself, I realised these compounds don’t magically make you lean.
I still had to:
-stay fully dialed in with nutrition
-maintain a calorie deficit consistently
-prioritise protein intake
-train regularly even on low motivation days
-deal with plateaus and energy fluctuations
-build discipline around routine

The biggest difference for me was that the constant mental battle around food became quieter for the first time in years. It finally felt possible to stay consistent without thinking about food 24/7.
The journey definitely wasn’t perfect though. There were phases of nausea, appetite becoming too low, frustration during stalls, and fear of regaining weight later. But overall, this journey completely changed how I view obesity and appetite regulation.
I also feel like awareness around these compounds is slowly growing a lot in India now compared to even a year ago. Curious how many people here have observed the same.

Still a long way to go, but this is the first time in years I genuinely feel confident that I can sustain my progress long term. Happy to answer questions about the journey, gym consistency, nutrition, mindset changes, or overall experience so far.

gym rant(+self rant sorta)

gym(+self) rant(kinda?)

i’m a 25 year old male, 170cm tall and i weigh 60 kilos. i don’t really have a nice body, skinny fat, mostly accumulated towards my lower body (from my stomach to thighs). i’ve been trying to workout regularly, but i feel super insecure stepping foot in the gym. i know most of the workout routines and stuff to do, but i still feel clueless when doing them especially because of the form and self doubt i have within. there were days where i used to wake up and yet not show up to the gym just because of this feeling. i’ve tried being consistent but never could, and it is because of my physical and mental inability to embrace it. the worst part is the gyms that are accessible to me, given my screwed up work schedule, are always packed to the brim, which makes it even annoying to go through. almost every person over there appear to know their shit, or atleast have someone with them. i feel super intimidated looking at them, that i don’t even feel like talking to them or asking them, with how underconfident i am. and instead of taking it as a challenge, this just is making me feel cold and jealous, and i try to cope by hating on everyone rather than atleast approaching them. and the fact that i feel it’s been too late for me makes me hate myself even more. i just feel weak and i seem like an outcast when it comes to fitness/gym. sorry if i sounded way too pessimistic, i know it’s my fault for being incompetent and inconsistent, but i wish people understood how things are easier said than done.

I'm tired of eating eggs (22f, 5 feet, 60kg, prediabetic)

Hi, so I'm 22f, 60kg, 5 feet in height, sedentary, recently diagnosed prediabetic as I got my hba1c tested (my identical twin had got hers tested 10 days ago and hers came 5.9 which was shocking because she is 55 kgs despite having more muscle than me, she's been gymming since 2-3 years, 10k steps daily, and has a lean figure) so I got mine tested and it was 5.8 which is obviously not good and in the pre diabetic range. The other hormones I got checked are as follows: fasting blood sugar 94.2, TSH thyroid - 2.88, fasting insulin- 7.03. Obviously, the the fasting blood sugar is also borderline, but everything else except hba1c seems ok.

Since 2-3 months, I was anyway trying to lose weight, mostly through diet control and had outside food like maximum once a week, through "ghar ka khaana". Mostly the weight I've gained in the last 3-4 years (used to be 50 kgs) has been mostly through me eating high caloric food that I made at home myself, or junk food like chips etc like homemade pancakes, sandwiches, french fries, putting cheese on everything, brownie etc. So I stopped that also for the past 2-3 months.

I used to avoid eating in the morning sometimes and would not eat for 4 hours, because eating would make me so tired it would make me useless. Now I've realized this was a horrible strategy and most likely made my pre diabetes worse because then I would over eat at lunch and the glucose spike and crash made me even more lethargic. So, since I got this news like a week ago, I've been consciously trying to eat more protein. Although, there is no stigma of non veg in my house bc I'm muslim, I myself preferred to eat more carbs as it just tasted better to me (like I'm ok eating the biryani rice without meat, good roti with criminally low amount of sabzi/meat). I stopped eating rice more than 2 times a week since 2-3 months bc I realized I would get into almost a comatose state (like nashe waali neend) after eating it, especially in the afternoon.

So, what I've been doing is I've been having 2 boiled eggs, almost like a salad before each of my 3 meals, then having carrot and cucumber as veg, some combination of chicken and paneer as my protein, and having like 2 rotis. So, this is what I eat for lunch and dinner, for breakfast I'll have a single egg omelette with roti and have fruit. I know it's just been a week but I'm so tired of eating eggs. I've eaten more than 10 eggs in this week easily. In my house, there's only chicken and mutton made but my issue is I get bored of any protein if I'm having it more than thrice a week. Idk what to do. I dont know how veg ppl even get enough protein. I know fish is an option but it's too much of a hassle to cook. Someone pls help, advice from short girls who became fit will be much appreciated.

i think i’ve plateaued, need help figuring out how and why

m 21, 172cm, 70kgs, diet: 100-130g protein daily, 3000 kcal(~500 give or take)
workout regimen: push pull legs, 6days a week
started working out out in october 2022. but i had been somewhat inconsistent and my diet wasn’t particularly curated.

for the past 6 months (since dec 2025) tho, i’ve been very consistent and cleaned up my diet, that is made sure i hit at least 110g protein per day(if not more) and don’t eat beyond required calories too regularly, also started taking whey protein supplements(4 months) and creatine(3 months) and yet i have remained the same weight since last year. the weights i’m able to use at the gym have also remained the same besides increasing for a couple exercises(triceps and leg related) but they’ve also decreased for a couple of them (bicep and chest) by a couple kgs but i chalk that up to having fixed my form and using different equipment.
i occasionally see a kg of difference high or low in my body weight but eventually end up back at 70kgs and i look the same as i did an year ago (maybe more), muscles aren’t more defined or bigger.
why is this happening? what can i do to fix it and start progressing again?

Suddenly I am not losing my weight? Need help M24 173cm

M24 173cm So I started my weightloss journey on 1 April 2026 and at that time I was 103kg+ and by the 10 May 2026 in the morning I weighed 93.30kg so I almost lost 10kg in 40days.

I am hitting gym 5 times completely focusing on weightlifting and doing an avg of 7k steps a day. The same process got me lose 10kg but from the last 10 days I am at the 93kg weight range only I don't know what's going wrong I am not cheating on my meals sometimes I even eat less and stay very hungry but I don't eat more. Today at 22 May I checked my weight it was 94kg.

I am following 1100 kcal diet and I count extra 250kcals on that as it's watermelon and mango season so I keep having them in moderate portion around 150-200gm every alternate day sometimes everyday still I am under a huge deficit but still don't know what's going wrong.

Should I change my personal trainer?

Hi, I’m 24M, 77 kg, 5’10. I started gym with a personal trainer 4 months ago.

I pay around 20k per month for 5 days/week but I feel like my training is way too relaxed, these are the things bothering me:

He often scrolls his phone or talks to other people while I’m doing my sets

Making me do 15 reps x 3 sets on almost everything

I feel like I can increase weight on many machines, but he doesn’t let me

He adjusts all the machines for me, but doesn’t really teach me how to set them up myself (I know I can easily learn this online but then whats the point of paying)

He kept me on 1600–1700 calorie intake for almost 3 months now

Discourages pre-workout/supplements and says we will start creatine after reaching 75 kg, which I don’t fully understand why

I’m not saying he’s a bad trainer, because I did lose 10kg so far and gained some muscles. But sometimes it feels like he’s keeping things too easy, almost like he wants me to continue with him for very long term.

Is this normal? Should I give him a few more months, or should I try a different trainer/gym?

P.S. Please don’t say I don’t need a PT. I do, because having one keeps me motivated. I’ve only skipped 3 days in the last 4 months

Which fitness app do you use to track your calories?

Recently i've started adopting a healthier lifestyle - trying to eat clean, daily 10k steps, minimal or no sugar and early dinner. I've been thinking of tracking my calories and i started looking for apps earlier i've used healthify me for a short duration but now it feels like everything is for pro users there, i can't even update my maintenance calorie. So wanted to know what other free and minimal apps are there which let you track your calories as precise as possible.

Why don't most people eat fish over chicken?

I switched to fish over chicken breast and honestly it's much easier to eat and almost same or a better nutrition value.

Have been ordering Tilapia/Basa over chicken breast and it's honestly much better to incorporate in Diet and a better nutrition value of Tilapia atleast.
