Holy mother of god, what is this? I've only watched the first 3 episodes, but I'm in love. I assumed Lynch was going to give us a nostalgia bomb that was comparable to the old series, that evokes the same moods and feelings. I assumed because he was getting another kick at the can to bring the series into the spotlight with audiences he would aim to make it a bit more accessible to have people hold onto it more.

Forget all that. Instead he's giving us a full on art-house horror project that's both weirder and scarier than anything that came before it. Like I said I'm only 3 episodes in, but I'm already more captivated than I was at any point in the original series. I can't believe I have 15 more episodes of this.

The descriptions of Other Mommy throughout the book definitely make her seem like a monstrosity more than just a scary humanoid woman looking thing. Maybe it was because I had just finished Resident Evil Requiem but I was always envisioning The Girl as Other Mommy. Maybe not quite as big, but definitely looking similar.

Are there examples in other media you can point to that resemble what you envisioned for Other Mommy?
