Lifetime Kids aged 9-11
When we signed up, it was presented like there were a lot of structured programs and classes for kids, especially older kids. After the first couple open days though, they got rid of most of the afternoon “classes” and now the kids just kind of figure out where to go when they get there. That setup is totally fine for younger kids, but it’s really rough for the 10–12 age group.
The biggest issue is that all the ages are basically lumped together in the same kids area. The younger kids are happy doing crafts, free play, or running around, but older kids don’t really have activities geared toward them. Mine feels too old for the little kid stuff but too young to be allowed in classes or the gym with me unless they’re 12. So if I want to take a class, there’s really nowhere age-appropriate for them to go.
Does this stage get better, or do most 10–12 year olds just kind of hate it there until they’re old enough to work out with parents or use the gym/classes themselves?
