Ditto non-meta team made MB2
I think everyone’s sleeping on Ditto. And half my team. So if anyone cares heres why:
**Ditto**
At this level Ditto is the mon I’m bringing to every single game. Besides being hilarious, everyone’s favorite pile of goop allows you to have 2 megas on your team. I repeat… DITTO = TWO MEGAS.
I’m not champions yet, but I think this tech is what makes him extremely viable high ladder.
Step 1) Open game with Machamp for widegaurd coverage + TR setter
Step 2) Wait for opponent to mega
Step 3) Yoink their mega on swap in
Bonus step 4) If they stat boost, like mega floette calm mind or close combat Staraptor, ditto enters WITH THE STAT BOOST. Ts crazy mayne
Step 5) Throw in your own mega. 2v1 mega ggs
I forgot to screenshot my field when I had Mega Blast + Mega Char, but man is this fun.
**Rest of team:**
The rest of this team has been my highest performing ladder team since game launch, and has some pretty big brain tech if you ask me, the guy who made it.
**Blastoise**
Big man + Slowking is the OG team comp and base way to play this team granted they arent running many possible water/psychic/poison counters.
Step 1) Mega Blastoise uses great coverage move or water spout
Step 2) Uber Tanky slowking sets TR
Step 3) Slowking spams heal pulse into blastoise, while big man click waterspout. If his health is full, slowking acid sprays anything that resists water/dark to drop spdef -2 and it dies.
This strategy will destroy 90% of non MB teams.
**Slowking**
All time favorite TR setter, this bulky fella can tank an absurd amount of damage. Once he gets TR off, Acid spray and heal pulse moving first on the field is extremely powerful. Psychic for sneasler/staraptor/good stab coverage.
**Abomasnow**
Underrated god, my preferred weather setter in the whole game. I ran focus sash Obamna for most of my MB career, which i found overall a lot more effective than having a mega. HOWEVER, with this Ditto team, the strategy is optimizing bringing 2 megas. So, any team that doesnt have fire or is more threatening to mega blastoise, I leave mega blastoise and bring Obamna for huge coverage against the entire pokedex.
- garchomp/dragons = blizzard one shot
- basculegion/milotic = energy ball one(ish) shot
- earth power = incredible coverage for Archulahoe, gambit, gengar and fire/steel mons
**Spiritomb**
Buckle up, this is a HIGH TECH MON. This is the most underrated mon in the format in my completely biased opinion. My childhood PTSD from fighting champion cynthia’s spiritomb in diamond/pearl put this mon on my radar. It’s the OG sabeleye typing, but way bulkier stats.
TR - Set TR
Willow - nerf physical
Pain Split - heres the big brain. I noticed this mon needed a way to heal bc hes so hard to deal with anyways. Under TR, spiritomb 49 speed is moving first. After first turn he’s often in red HP, but usually doesnt die. He painsplits to both deal damage and heal, and the biggest brain is that I have his stat line to be minimum HP max def/spdef, which is unusual but super optimized for painsplit. No one sees this coming, and it keeps spiritomb alive for many, many turns.
Foul Play - This was hex for a while, but I saw the only other guy in the internet running spiritomb using foul play, which i realized actually has better offensive coverage and deals damage faster than willow+hex most of the time. + It almost 1 shots METAgross, who i never liked anyways. Meta? Gross.
**Machamp**
The unsung hero. This mon is OP. Why?
- No Gaurd Rock Slide. Yes, aside from having elite coverage options, and dynamic punch maybe being the best no guard move in the game, no guard rock slide/dynamic punch moving first under trick room is extremely powerful. For the slow folks, these two moves mean i have a 100% chance to confuse you+deal huge damage, or a 100% chance to 30% flinch both of your mons. Expert belt makes these even stronger.
Knockoff - one shots the basc, which is way more useful than bullet punch sets.
Wide Gaurd - this is the reason hes on the team. In my experience at this high elo, you need wide gaurd especially if your not playing meta. This stops everything from Char-chomp heatwave earthquakes to dazzling gleam/hypervoices. Often Widegaurd first turn enables a free trick room set up, then its GGs.
Well if anyone made it this far, lmk if you want to use the team and i’ll upload a rental code. Have fun beating the meta out there. If anyone has advice for how to bring these team to champions, lay it on me!
