Drive time….

Conflicted here, so my wife and I owned property with a small cabin on it, along with her brother, he hardly ever used it, we used every other weekend or so, but decided to sell due to us being the only ones contributing to making the property nicer, both in sweat equity and financially, and he just reaped the benefit of the value going up without having to contribute in any way. Anyway… that property was about 2 hour drive for us, and we have found another property with a similar cabin on it, but it is 4 hours away.

Wondering if 4 hour one way is too far for a weekend trip every 3 weeks or so, we would extend holiday weekends like Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July by a day on each side of the weekend.

St J…. What’s its deal?

So just like the title suggests I am wanting to know about ST J. the good, the bad, and the ugly. Considering purchasing a few acres there, and I have heard things about the area, but really want to hear the actual, not the rumors.

Property in use

Can someone explain the tax implications of removing a parcel from in use. Explain it like I am 5 please.
Looking at purchasing property after I sell my camp in VT (VT is getting to be a bit much) and I have seen a few properties that were in use, but have been logged in the past.
