Some bonus videos before the hiatus!
Hey everyone! I’m so sorry it’s taken me a while to get to this. I’ve met someone in person who is absolutely wonderful, so I’ve been trying to balance my time (so I can hang out with him but also get my responsibilities done first). I hope these pictures give y’all some good laughs. Odin and I will be back someday soon, likely in the middle/late August, as that is when I go on a beach vacation (Odin included). Anyways, much love to everyone!
P.S. That weight was 4 pounds, but I also tested it, and he can lift 8.
Hey y’all! I’m sorry I missed last week’s update. I’ve been busy. This is the second to last post for a while. I’ll try to make the last one a good one. I will also take a bunch of photos for it, so that it’s a good send-off. Much love to everyone!
Hey everyone! Sorry for this very late update. I think once we reach week 30, I’ll take a break. I need it. I’m not sure how long the break will be, but I’ll try to make it short. I just really need to focus on some other things in life. I know, it sounds odd. How could I need a break from something that only takes 5 minutes to do? Well, I just need one. Anyways, I hope y’all enjoy, much love to everyone!
Happy Memorial Day from Odin to y’all! I know this update is a day late, but that’s okay, I figured a Memorial Day post would work just fine. Unfortunately, when my stepbrother came to stay with my family this weekend, he shot my training with Odin back by at least a month. He also unfortunately hurt Odin. Basically, I’ve been trying very hard to get Odin not to bite (playfully) when being petted. My stepbrother, let’s call him J, was allowing Odin to bite. I asked him multiple times to not do that as I’d been trying to train Odin not to. J would either say “okay” half-heartedly, or just straight up ignore me. Now, for the more sad part. On Saturday, J was “playing” with Odin. More of the biting was happening. I looked away for a few moments, and when I looked back, J had Odin’s e-collar and was pulling it so hard, Odin was unable to breathe. I thought J was trying to pull it off of his head. I, of course, said “what the hell are you doing?”, to which the response was “whut?”. When I asked him why he was pulling Odin’s collar, he claimed Odin was trying to bite him. Odin was not, he was trying to escape. Upon being released, Odin coughed a few times. There was at least 10 pounds of force being applied. I told J that the collar has 2 “prongs” (the electric stimulation has to be administered somehow, after all), and that he could have seriously hurt Odin. He said he didn’t know, to which I responded that even if he hadn’t known, you do NOT pull on a dog’s collar like that. I immediately removed myself and Odin from the room, and just had Odin sit in bed with me for a little while. I had a little bit of trust with J in that I didn’t think he’d hurt Odin, but now I have absolutely none. Especially because he started doing it again the next day. I caught him doing it and said to stop. Apparently his father spoke to him about it, but the (mind you, 17 year old) child never listens. Odin will no longer be allowed alone with him. Sorry for the long update, just wanted to let y’all know what’s going on. It was truly shocking. Odin is okay, luckily. Anyways, much love to everyone.
Hey everyone! I’m sorry this update is super late. I’ll try to post this coming Sunday. I’ve been kind of busy, but Odin is doing even better with his leg. Hope y’all are doing well, much love to everyone!
Hey everyone! Short update because I so recently did week 23’s update. Odin is feeling much better now and is no longer limping! His tail is also looking better. And, awesome note: he’s finally started marking outside! Now, will this become an issue inside? Maybe, but I’ll do my best to make sure he doesn’t mark inside. I give him plenty of time to mark while outside, as many times and places as he wants, so I hope it’ll curb any inside marking. Anyways, much love to everyone!
Hey everyone! The reason (I know, I actually have a reason for once, haha) I’m late on Odin’s update is because he had an injured leg or shoulder. I didn’t want to update until we’d gotten him to the vet. We’re 2 days out from seeing the vet, and we got him some meds for pain and to keep him calm so he can actually rest it. So, what was wrong? Well…they don’t really know. The vet thought it was probably a soft tissue injury, but since Odin is a very talkative boy, he was whining no matter what leg she touched. Even the back legs, which weren’t the concern (he’s been limping with one of his front legs, but it’s hard to tell which one). So, she took some blood to make sure his kidneys and liver are fine, and they are. So, now Odin has Carprofen and Trazadone! After 1 day of rest, he was already feeling MUCH better. Actually ran around a bunch (which I didn’t want him to do, but he was very excited because I’d just gotten home and let him out of his crate). I also suspect Odin might have stud tail, so I mentioned it to the vet. She- I’m not sure if she agreed? She just saw that it was very flaky and dry, yet VERY oily if you gently squeeze his tail. So, she gave me some spray to sort things out. I’m also changing his food from salmon and rice to lamb and oatmeal to see if it’ll improve his itchiness. The vet said it’s normal for young dogs to be itchy, but I just want to make sure I rule out his food. Don’t worry, I’m not cold-turkey switching! He got a 1/4th of a cup this morning of the new stuff, as well as 1 and 3/4 of his normal stuff. Anyways, much love to you all!
