Veil vs Scarf

My dress was the first thing I bought for my wedding and I am so head over heels IN LOVE with it! It’s going to be ivory like in pics 2 & 3 (1 is sort of pink). I really really love the veil, it feels very romantic and dramatic and I always imagined I’d wear a veil. But I also tried on the sash/scarf and I was surprised by how much I liked it. It feels very chic and high fashion. I’m still leaning toward the veil but when I ask for opinions, there’s a pretty solid 50/50 split which gives me real pause. What do we think?? (Sorry for all the scribbles, I have very easy to recognize tattoos.)

Healthy natural nails by my wedding day—or bust!

I had been loyal to my acrylics for 7+ years up until a year ago when I moved across the country away from my trusted nail girl. My nails were in brutal shape and very painful so I started doing my own gel manicures at home. When I realized that was inhibiting my nail recovery I switched to press ons which helped me make some progress but ultimately I realized my nails weren’t ever going to fully recover until I gave them a real break from everything. Over the past month I’ve been letting them do their thing without paying them much mind outside of clipping and filing when needed.

My wedding day is about a year and a half out and I am determined to have long and strong natural nails and healthy cuticles by then. I bought a crystal file, nail strengthener, and jojoba oil to start. It’s only been 3 days but I’m staying on top of keeping them oiled like it’s my full time job! I’m trying to constantly remind myself I’m not going to see change overnight so that my expectations don’t make me stall out. My plan is to paint them with color polish on top of the strengthener next and keep up with filing and oiling. Anything else I should implement now or down the road? Planning on doing a deep dive tomorrow into how long I should be using the strengthener and whatnot.

Very optimistic I’ll be able to return to this post a year from now and see genuine progress!!
