Hello,

So I am at a UK university and they are proposing to make hundreds of people redundant and have sent letters to say people's jobs are at risk.

I am in a school where in the plan is there is going to be no redundancies. However, I have been put in a pool of people who have similar job roles from another school. They're asking for voluntary redundancies and, if they dont get enough will move to compulsory redundancies, where they will score people against criteria and make the position redundant and replace the remaining people.

Now, I'm sure confused, how can I be at risk in a school which will have no redundancies? Also, if I dont take voluntary redundancy, how would they make my role redundant when they have already said they are not going to make any redundancies in my school. My school is not merging with any others.

I'm really confused and upset.
