Well, that's the list completed. It took me 5 years and the birth of my daughter, but I did it. Here are my takeaways to make a better list:

  1. No more than 4 albums per artist - this will push you to pick their truly great albums that need to be heard before you die.

  2. Don't put an album on just because it had one insanely great single; waste of a space.

  3. Too many psychedelic US albums.

  4. One Byrds album is fine.

  5. An album shouldn't be eligible for the list until it is at least a decade old. That gives us a much better idea on how culturally (high and low) important and the impact the album will have.

  6. I'm shocked there's no Japanese music on this list - it should be a given.

  7. Angine De Poitrine are definitely going to be in the next book.

  8. Too many albums that are sound alikes... Do we need so many US samba albums? Give me the best Brazilian one

  9. I'm already assuming I'm going to prefer the list generated by users.

  10. Really the list is about 250 albums you should hear before you die.

If you're interested my first album was Hotel California by the Eagles (3/5) and my last was Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz (2/5).

If you're interested here's my summary.
