NGD: Salen Classic NX 6 tremolo black

NGD: Salen Classic NX 6 tremolo black

Just got my first Strandberg, had been looking for a while when this one popped up at a great price. It seems this model doesn't get talked about much, I was searching the internet high and low for reviews and chat about this one, and did not find much (the Salen Jazz has a lot more info online about it, yet I heard it was the worst selling model...). Was super impressed with the tone straight away, though was surprised by the big volume difference between humbucking and split coil. A lot of versatility in the tones though, fat humbucking sounds and almost strat like single coil tones are both available, and I really didn't expect to love the pickups as much as I do. The enduraneck feels great, no problems adapting to it, upper fret access is not quite as good as expected, but the birdseye maple looks sick. Tuning is a bit painful due to not being able to turn the tuners without moving the tremolo a bit which then throws off the tuner. Fairly minor issue, but wouldn't want to be doing a fast on-stage tune up on this. The tuners themselves are a bit fiddly to grab and turn, but the guitar tends to stay in tune very well (it arrived after 5 days of shipping in perfect tune). My only other issue is in a house full of guitar stands this won't sit on any of them nicely! Ordered the neck adapter off Etsy so I can hang it. Next step is to adjust the intonation a little, haven't even looked up how that works yet. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase so far!

Prostate test talk: Who's going to tell Scott and Paul?

As a man of a similar age to Scott and PFT, I had for a number of years been anxiously awaiting the moment my doctor told me it was time to start doing prostate checks. Picture my relief when I found out, that here in Australia at least, they just do a blood test now, no need for the rubber glove treatment. I don't know how they do things in California, but apparently when it comes to prostate exams, they do still do it the old fashioned way, OR Scott and Paul's doctor (I'm going with it being the same guy) has a lot of explaining to do.
