I hosted a Bridgerton themed afternoon tea today

I honestly had so much fun putting all this together for my lovely friends. I do an annual afternoon tea for my female friends and I couldn't resist using Bridgerton for this year's inspiration.

I planned 9 dishes, 4 hot drinks and 3 cocktails themed on the show, using some popular flavours of the time.

I'd love ro know what you'd have wanted to sample, or what dishes or drinks you'd have liked to see included

Warning: some of the references contain SPOILERS

Favourites were:

- the scotch eggs

- the Boys' Supper Club Cheeseboard

- the Queen's Wig cake

- the macarons

- the Soju Love Benedict cocktail

Made my first brioche

I'm a reasonably experienced home baker and I've made quite a few types of bread over the years but I was always a bit reluctant to make brioche, I think because if it goes wrong it is a lot of ingredients to waste.... anyway I woke up super early this morning and couldn't get back off to sleep so I thought I'd try a half quantity loaf. I didn't do the classic egg wash because I couldn't bring myself to throw out 3/4 of an egg 🤣 but I waa honestly blown away by the taste and texture all the same. One of my favourite ever breads. So soft and fragrant!

70th birthday cake for my MIL

A classic Victoria sponge including lindor truffles, which are her fave, and handmade white sugarpaste roses to match the colour scheme which was pink, white and gold. Still getting used to my new oven 🤣
