hello! this may seem like a silly or obvious question, but is it possible/valid for someone to fall into a certain mindset depending on the person? like being a sub with one individual, whilst being dom with others (not simultaneously)? i’m not talking about a general switch, but someone who falls into a specific & linear position simply depending on the person they are with.

i hope this makes sense. i’ve always fallen into the sub (more specifically, brat) category, but i’ve met someone who is inherently submissive recently and it’s been making me rethink what role i want to take on. i think the answer is; why not explore, it’s my business. but isn’t someone’s physiological reactions, especially in bdsm, dependent on who you are fundamentally? i am honestly asking if that can change or fluctuate to the end of the spectrum, and be truly authentic. either way, i’ll figure it out, but it would be interesting to hear some outside perspectives.
