Disappointing/Horrible International Food on Flights

I recently flew from Seattle to Reykjavík and back to Seattle, and the complimentary meals on each flight were horrible. On the way to Reykjavík, we were served a paltry burrito with minimal filling and about a 1/3 cup of a pasta salad. Neither were good and there was more of the cardboard container than food. One the way back from Reykjavík, we were served something they called a pizza roll (see picture) and about a 1/3 of cucumber salad; again, more of the cardboard container than food. The roll looked and tasted like it was made back in the 1980's. No one around me ate it. Fortunately I had decided to grab food at the Reykjavík airport and bring it on the flight for my meal. This is the way!

I've also read that their Hawaiian flights are moving to the same disappointing food. I don't get it since their domestic food choices/ordering are great. This is the model they should be following. Just moving to a two item preorder option (veggie/non-veggie) with similar quality of food would go a long ways.

Until Alaska Arlines figures out their international food options, I would highly recommend bringing you own food on international and flights to Hawaii,
