Power solutions

Hi all first time posting here,

I am looking for portable air conditioner or even battery powered Ac solutions for a 39ft boat with a small room.

Also, since marine generators such as Onan, lnoler, and Fischer panda are expensive, has anyone tried any other cost effective alternatives?

N54 z4 2013 review after 10 years

Thought I'd post this to see if any community members had the same experience with other BMW dealers around the globe. This review was of one of the dealerships in the middle east.

Overall I have a positive outlook, the car is eye catching, super fun to drive and was once very reliable. It's an engineering marvel if I'm being honest, after driving or for 10 years.

All services were done at dealership up until they screwed up big times and charged me over 5,000$ in repairs which I didn't mind paying.... However the issue was not resolved until by chance I spoke to a friend of mine and he managed to resolve the issue within 2 weeks, at a third party garage. Apparently there was a small problem with one of the cylinder heads which made the car lose its power, and rely on lower gears more than higher gears. Keep in mind, no error signs were visible once all the sensors were replaced however the core issue was not solved.

The dealership recommended I replace, all the solenoid valves, sensors, gearbox and turbo service and replacement, which were are not necessary, as well as the main computer of the car which alone was over 2500$.

Luckily after escalating the issue and speaking to the manager at the dealership, and BMW dealership, refunded me all of the amount, gave me the new 2024 Z4 (at the time) with 4.0 engine to try as long as I wanted. I took it only for 3 days as I was relocating. However, since they amended the issue, gave me full refund even on items such as brake disc's, oil change, and gearbox oil leak fix (kind of them). Which honestly made a big difference, in my perspective of BMW as a company. Since I know, not many dealers are willing to go the extra mile to retain customers nowadays.

I was wondering if anyone here had similar experiences with positive outcomes, or whether this is an isolated case. One of my good friends with a 650i, had a very bad experience in which the dealership, failed not only at fixing the issue but also in trying even with a minimal margin to find a suitable solution, which forced him to go to 3rd party garages.

Converting the roof into a manual mechanism.

Hi first time posting and was just wondering, I'm having issues with my convertible roof (3.5 e89 z4 2012), does anyone have experience or whether it's even possible to patch the leak up and converting the full automated mechanism into a manual mechanism.. I've been quoted over 3,000$ to fix the rooftop, as I'll have to. Purchase the full the set of wires and cables.
