Data Connectivity Unit
We recently had a poor experience at Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta. In the process of replacing our Ioniq 9’s floor harness (airbag light was on) the technician drained our 12V battery by leaving the door open for too long (never got an answer on how long).
Then, after we picked it up, we noticed that it couldn’t connect to Weather, Sports, navigation, or the mobile app.
We took it back and they had to replace the Data Connectivity Unit. I asked repeatedly if something happened to it because of the 12V battery drainage. Never got a straight answer from them.
Does anyone know if the Data Connectivity Unit is powered by the vehicle’s 12V battery? Google Gemini indicates yes but the sources it references don’t explicitly state that.
Thankfully everything is under warranty but it’s been frustrating to not get clear answers from the dealership/service center.
