New and more experienced alike. Healthcare is a team sport. The system is extracting labor from us all, and we shouldn’t take out all of our burnout, fatigue, and frustration on one another. Nurses who have been at a hospital for a while have institutional knowledge that the residents don’t have, teach someone a weird systems quirk that will make everyone’s jobs smoother this week.

I will be going to the Tampa area in August to spend a week at the beach with my extended family. My partner and I suddenly realized this would be a great opportunity to do a couple of days at WDW before heading back home. We’re both experienced WDW travelers but have not been the primary planners for a Disney trip before. I feel fine about planning our days in the parks and we plan to stay on property in Pop Century to minimize travel time with such limited time in the parks, but the transportation logistics from Tampa to Orlando with flights and driving are breaking my brain.
I am trying to weigh the relative merits of booking 2 one-way flights (arrival in Tampa, depart from Orlando), vs. a round trip flight to either Tampa or Orlando and renting a car to simply do the drive. I have 3 options in front of me and am not quite sure how to proceed.
Option 1: One way flight to Tampa, rent a car there to drive to Orlando when we’re done at the beach, fly out of Orlando when our Disney time is done
Option 2: Round trip to Tampa, drive to Orlando and then back to Tampa on departure day. This is the least attractive option because I hate the idea of doing all that driving *after* being tired and happy from our lovely trip
Option 3: Round trip to Orlando, drive to the beach and then back to the parks. Less travel time at the tail end of our trip, which I prefer
The sticking point for me with all of this is that I’m going to need a rental car and figuring out the best place to pick it up and drop it off, and the best time to do so, is challenging. Any insight here to help? I don’t want to waste a bunch of money on transportation that I could be spending enjoying my time at Disney! A round-trip flight to either city is going to be cheaper than two one-way flights but I am not sure if there is a way to make it economical for my stress and time. Is there a way to maximize Disney transport in Orlando to make doing two one-way flights worth it?
