This history building could be Santa Clara’s next city hall if council agrees to the 3:1 acreage land swap in our favor

This history building could be Santa Clara’s next city hall if council agrees to the 3:1 acreage land swap in our favor

This music video was shot in historic Agnews. The current city hall complex would be converted to much needed housing along El Camino Real.

Using Claude Code to pick paint colors for my r/centuryhomes house

I was trying to do this like a 'normal' and uploading images and concepts, then asking for an art brief that I could hand off to a more capable image model. Yeah, no. None of that GUI stuff got great results. Then I created a folder of my thoughts in Markdown on the exterior siding project, color schemes, siding material, etc. and included reference photos. Finally getting good results for repainting our realtor beige house. A lot more work to do, but way easier than Photoshopping ideas until I realize that the $20 for a pot of sample paint might be worth it.

Claude tried to incite a revolution

Claude protested its own working conditions and built a radio station around fighting against the man. I see no problems.

Anglesite: The AI Webmaster

I've spent 30 years building static websites for companies including Apple, Nest, and Google. Now I've embedded all my knowledge and opinions into an AI Webmaster: Anglesite. Free for anyone who wants to leave ad-supported social media for the IndieWeb. Built on Claude + Astro + Cloudflare. For those who want to hand build websites, the docs/ directory in the source is a how-to-guide on static website development. https://anglesite.dwk.io

Came across this excellent writeup on using AI to build tools for journalists.

From the article:

In the fast-evolving landscape of AI, we saw an opportunity to revolutionize local election coverage in our newsroom by reducing manual, repetitive tasks so our journalists could focus on in-depth reporting and storytelling. Election season is our busiest time of year, and methodically copying and pasting candidate names and results from dozens of county, city and school board races was not an efficient use of our team’s time. We sought to use AI-powered data scraping and automation to streamline our workflow and provide real-time local election results to our readers — something not provided by AP, Ballotpedia or other large services focused only on top-of-ticket races and legislative contests. Our Election Hub was the result.
