Destashed ingredient: frozen garlic bread, fusili di Gragnano

Did you ever solve a puzzle a full day before anyone else, but the person administering the puzzle didn't acknowledge your correct answer and kept giving clues? I guess you gotta chuckle, say "fuck it," and move on.

Anyway, this eggplant parm-adjacent dish is based on a recipe from Sohla El-Waylly's book Start Here. Threw some garlic bread on the side to get the package out of my freezer, but it got a little burnt. The first pic is leftovers I was able to arrange better. The second pic is the original execution with the pasta and garlic bread but I didn't like the way it looked.

Week 20: Jams & Jellies - Deconstructed Jezebel Dip on a Pizza (meta: Ingredient Destash)

Destashed ingredient: apple gelée, croutons

I was feeling snacky and inspired by u/chizubeetpan's meta, so I made a vintage snack into a pizza. I took a frozen pizza crust and topped it with cream cheese, chunks of grilled pinapple, and jalapenos. Once it was out of the oven, I drizzled it with horseradish and dry mustard apple gelée. Jezebel dip worked surprisingly well as a pizza! I was also able to use up the dregs from a package of croutons for a side salad.

Destashed ingredients: sushi soy sauce, tuxedo sesame seeds

This BBQ ground meat fusion concession food was a blast to make and to eat... not so much to photograph. Impossible ground "beef" bulgogi nachos with red, gold, and green toppings: tomatoes, gochujang nacho cheese, gochugaru charred corn, cilantro, and scallions.

Destashed ingredient: baguette slices

What says "baseball" more than a hotdog? I grilled up some veggie dogs, made little sliders with them, and served with a trio of soups that may make any god out there question giving me free will. Ketchup soup was basically indistinguishable from condensed tomato soup from a can. I loved it. Mustard soup, based on classic Dutch mosterdsoep, was creamy and just a bit tangy. Very enjoyable. Mayo soup was an absolute abomination. It tasted exactly like mayonnaise, only hot and runny. I took one bite and immediately dumped the rest of my tiny bowl plus the remainder of the (luckily very small) pot down the sink.

My bucket list destination is all 30 Major League Baseball parks. I'm about halfway there. Looks like the next ballpark my spouse and I will get to cross off the list may be St. Louis. Play ball, y'all!
