The history of intelligence in latter day saint thought

Some time ago I mentioned an article I had read that traced the history of thoughts on what intelligence is in latter day thought, especially among the priesthood leaders of the church. A few people asked me for the article, but I couldn't remember where it was. I subsequently found the article, but forgot to post it until this morning:

When did Lehi see the sword of the justice of the Eternal God whose brighness was like unto the brightness of a flaming fire?

In 1 Nephi 12, the angel tells Nephi:

18 And the large and spacious building, which thy father saw, is vain imaginations and the pride of the children of men. And a great and a terrible gulf divideth them; yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God, and the Messiah who is the Lamb of God, of whom the Holy Ghost beareth record, from the beginning of the world until this time, and from this time henceforth and forever.

And then in 1 Nephi 15, Nephi tells his brothers:

27 And I said unto them that the water which my father saw was filthiness; and so much was his mind swallowed up in other things that he beheld not the filthiness of the water.

28 And I said unto them that it was an awful gulf, which separated the wicked from the tree of life, and also from the saints of God.

29 And I said unto them that it was a representation of that awful hell, which the angel said unto me was prepared for the wicked.

30 And I said unto them that our father also saw that the justice of God did also divide the wicked from the righteous; and the brightness thereof was like unto the brightness of a flaming fire, which ascendeth up unto God forever and ever, and hath no end.

When did Lehi see the sword of the justice of the Eternal God whose brightness was like unto the brightness of a flaming fire?

Reading 1 Nephi 8, I'm not seeing anything that seems to resemble this.

[Request] How much copper is in the world’s landfills?

Every motor has quite a lot of copper in it, from power tools to appliances. I’ve thrown away quite a lot of motors in my days as tools or appliances break. It has only been recently that I’ve started to break down motors and extract the copper windings before tossing the rest in the trash, but that isn’t a common thing to do. So there must be a ton of copper in the world’s landfills. Is there anyway to estimate how much there is?

Subtitles from video linked at Celebrating the Founding of the United States and the US Constitution

The video of President Christofferson and Elder Cook on video linked at Celebrating the Founding of the United States and the US Constitution doesn't have a way to download the subtitles, so I extracted them and thought I'd share them with others who might want to read what they said.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_J38_uQg6I_vcXcfk_tiwP0ceBv2U6Nb/view?usp=sharing

My favorite part is at the end when President Christofferson said:

326 00:20:14,584 --> 00:20:19,422 But I wanted to remind us of something that one of the Founding Fathers,

327 00:20:19,422 --> 00:20:21,049 John Adams, said.

328 00:20:21,967 --> 00:20:25,971 He said, “We have no government armed with power

329 00:20:26,721 --> 00:20:32,811 capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion.”

330 00:20:33,228 --> 00:20:37,941 So, our government cannot overcome unbridled passions

331 00:20:40,026 --> 00:20:42,904 that are not governed by morality and religion.

332 00:20:43,446 --> 00:20:48,702 “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.

333 00:20:49,452 --> 00:20:53,206 It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

334 00:20:54,291 --> 00:20:59,170 So, I suppose maybe the best thing we can do is be that kind of person—

335 00:20:59,212 --> 00:21:04,551 be a good, moral, upstanding, faithful person in our lives.

336 00:21:05,051 --> 00:21:06,928 We can contribute at least that much.

337 00:21:06,970 --> 00:21:10,015 And that really is underpinning everything else

338 00:21:10,015 --> 00:21:13,393 we’ve talked about. All these other principles

339 00:21:13,393 --> 00:21:21,276 and the blessings and opportunities can’t be sustained unless we are faithful,

340 00:21:21,276 --> 00:21:23,403 a faithful people to God.

The last time I interviewed for a new job was in 2001. Today I was laid off (along with a few thousand other people). I have no idea how to go about getting a new job in 2026. The way we did it back then obviously doesn't apply anymore. What are the best ways to job hunt now?
