What Guitar Should I Get My Friend

I have recently reconnected with a childhood friend who is struggling with alcoholism. We used to play guitar together when we were younger. Alongside all the other recovery stuff, I wanna get him an electric guitar, if anything, to hopefully get him back into playing and maybe play together--he has a Martin acoustic that needs repairs. When we were teens, he was into Fall of Troy and (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac. I want him to get a guitar, but not sure what to get him since I haven't talked to him in years. There's a guy where I live selling an Epiphone Casino for like $470 on Reverb, and I can pick it up myself. An Epiphone Coronet, however, is a unique guitar and is like 500 bucks. Gibson is located in Nashville, which is a 3-hour drive, so it'll take two days to get here. I was thinking of a Casino and a Coronet, just because I feel like I wanna get him something unique. Any other suggestions are welcome, but preferably not more than 500 bucks. Maybe a payment plan on a really nice one, but that's too much commitment right now.

Note: I have an Epiphone Casino, but it's left-handed, so that would be cool to match.

Over the past year I started getting back into playing guitar and recording music. I still suck, but it's fun. Here are some of the more "b-side" songs I felt like uploading on to soundcloud, some are old material. Actually, I'll just post two links. I have a few I'm working on and then Imma rerecord two version of La Vie en Californie because I really do think it's a nice song despite how simple it is.
