Young Voters need to enroll 18-24 year olds

Even Mike says they need to enroll. The Greens are only campaigning around Universities telling the youth to enroll but it doesnt appear to be working. Also, Mike reckons a lot of new migrants will vote conservative :(

The youth vote for the upcoming NZ Election could be missing going by recent numbers, This will no doubt have a negative effect on left wing parties like the Greens who tend to rely on the youth vote.

Enrolment of 18-24 year olds for Nov 7 election collapses to 53% from 70%; Over 200,000 young people not enrolled

Bernard Hickey explains that migrant exploitation is costing young Kiwis jobs & also making it seem that slave labour in Aotearoa is rife which does not go down well with countries that Aotearoa exports to.

Tranche 2 Anti money laundering laws

These come into play on July 1st this year & will help stop people laundering money thru Australian property. Most countries have Tranche 2 laws in place. Australia has been a bit slow in adopting them.

So this makes me ask the question. How much dirty money has propped up Australian real estate in the past?

Australia's Tranche 2 anti-money laundering (AML/CTF) laws bring real estate agents, lawyers, and conveyancers under the AUSTRAC regulatory umbrella. This requires professionals to verify buyer identities and source of funds, aiming to reduce artificial price pressures by curbing illicit cash in the housing market

-Stricter Buyer Checks: Buyers will face more paperwork, longer onboarding times, and rigorous identification processes as agents and lawyers are now obligated to act as "gatekeepers".

-Risk of Transaction Delays: Settlement timelines may occasionally stretch if buyers and sellers fail to provide requested documentation—such as trust deeds or source-of-funds evidence—promptly.

-Administrative Costs: Real estate and legal professionals face higher operational and compliance costs, which may be passed on to consumers as part of standard transaction fees.
