For those of you who went from a sports car to a Ranger Raptor, does the truck scratch the "itch"?

I am getting older and buying a house next month, so I am thinking it's time to look into a midsized truck. Single guy, and don't really want more than one vehicle, so the idea of a sportier truck is inline with my life situation. Curious if those of you who come from a background of sports cars; does the Ranger Raptor give you what you need as an enthusiast?

Would love to know what you left behind as a car when moving into the RR as well!

Have not been diagnosed yet but am becoming increasingly more confident I have IIH (MRI in two weeks) - What were your starting symptoms and how did Diamox help?

For 5/6 months now I have had some significant pressure, mainly felt behind my ears. The ENT doc did a backpressure test and saw a relatively high number and said I had ETD (eustachian tube dysfunction). I also have tons of pressure around my head that they cant seem to measure, complete with random headaches (behind eyes and random spots over my head), as well as sore neck. ENT also did a CT scan and sinuses were clear.

They've referred me to imaging (MRI and Carotid scan) which I will have in two weeks from now. Until then, they've prescribed me some Diamox and said that if pressure gets intense, within 30 minutes Diamox will relieve it.

The challenge is that the symptoms don't seem to be consistent. When I wake up in the morning (or lay down at night) things feel much better. The pressure starts to build when I get out of bed and start moving around, which I understand to be unusual for IIH. Diamox *seems* to help, but I have only been taking it a couple of days.

Does Diamox need time to build and become effective in your system (days or weeks) or is what the ENT doc said true, that it starts working immediately?

Those of you that went through similar process of figuring out the issue, what other root causes did you hear about with similar issues? I know it seems odd to ask reddit for guidance like this (instead of a doc) but the weeks between doc appointments and the ENT doc not really knowing what could be the cause is kinda worrying me.

Got me a pickem up truck

After extensive research (and subsequently ignoring all of the reports of motors blowing up), I decided to roll the dice on a ’26 TRD Pro. I cross-shopped this with a pre-owned Titan, AT4 with the 6.2 and the Ram 1500 and ultimately picked the Tundra; here's why

Couple "good" remarks:

- First and foremost, I fell in love with the powertrain. I know this motor and trans have a rocky reputation, but the way it delivers power (and how smooth it changes gears) really is a notch above the competition. This may be blasphemous to say but the synthetic audio inside isn't horrible, either. The hybrid system kicks on and off without me really noticing.

- Secondly comes the suspension. There is an incredible amount of construction around me, complete with poorly paves roads, pot holes etc etc and I find the suspension setup on this TRD Pro to just glide over it all. To be fair, I am used to daily driving an M2, so anything would be an improvement in this area, but even comparing test drives, this feels the best.

- The interior build quality seems to be "solid", and I love the optional red (or light grey on other trims) leather. Most of these trucks just come in black with somewhat of a boring approach to the interior. The Tundra let's you opt for red leather, and I think it really levels up the interior of this truck. The fitment of *most* things seem solid (except for my drivers seat, more on this at the bottom.)

Stuff I don't love:

- I completely missed this when test driving, but the turning radius is hilarious. Oddly, when making a right turn, it seems sharper than a left turn. I park in tight garages for home and work, and have to make multi-point turns when turning left into the garage. You get used to it, as I already have, but it's definitely the first negative I noticed.

- The internals of my drivers seat don't seem to be assembled. I know this contradicts my interior quality comment above, but this, so far, is the only exception. My drivers seat seems to have a lot of loose frame parts inside the backrest. When I get in, shift around etc etc, I can feel parts inside of the backrest moving, clicking/popping etc. I am sure Toyota will fix this but it's definitely annoying.

- The audio system kinda sucks. Maybe I can tweak the EQ-- but keeping it all flat, this audio system seems incredibly underpowered. I may try it with bluetooth instead of carplay to see if it helps. Any suggestions on EQ settings?

My immediate plans:

- Right now I just want to drive it. Looking for any excuse to put miles on it. It wasn't cheap, so I don't have a ton of plans to mod it just yet (give my wallet a chance to recover). When I do though, here is my plan:

- 35s

- Blendmound for radar

- Maybe JB4

And I think that's it!
