Earnings and Tips
Route 1: 44 Drops £59 59 divided by 44 = £1.34 per drop
( u can count the number of dots/stops in the picture which is 39 drops with 44 parcels.) so the 44 equates to the amount of parcels u are being given to deliver and the number of dots on the map is the number of stops u have.
I’ve been receiving some very good offers towards the evening received a route for 7 drops for £25 at 8:30pm however it was a 30 min drive from me.
I know most of the surrounding areas however delivering when it’s dark takes significantly longer as u can’t see house numbers etc which correlates to why the pay is so high paying.
I always look at the route before accepting to ensure that the drops are condensed enough for me to complete the route around the 2 hour mark. Also it seems u can no longer take two routes at a time or is it just me.
I tried to do 4 prebooked routes the other day have got stops all over the place and by the 3rd I was just mentally and physically drained and realised it just wasn’t worth it doing 50 or so drops for £30 honestly that’s like Evri pay which is very disappointing.
Best to wait and just pick up offers on the day saves u the time and u earn the same amount or even more.
Tips for delivering: Always check the map often times u can have a junction or road where drop no 44 is a 10 second walk from drop 13 use the map more than the list. U can take a look at the next five drops on the map and plan the most efficient way it would be for u to deliver them and where to park so u can deliver multiple at a time.
As for parcel arrangements 1-20 in front seat 20-29 on the floor and 30 upwards in back seats if I need any of the higher numbers for the next couple of stops I take them from the back and put them to the front.
One advantage of relay is you can deliver in any order Im often delivering out of sequence if the drops are literally next to me as it’s telling me to drive past stop 44 at the end of a one way road on my right hand side to go to stop 13. Also having the instant withdrawals and routes being credited the day after is great honestly but not enuff to justify the rates for routes honestly.
Been working relay for 3 weeks now currently bronze cos I been cancelling routes that paid so low which is actually In My favour as I literally never prebook any routes now. delivery driving is a very physically and mentally demanding job worked for a few companies before so I got a lot of respect for anyone that does it as a regular side hustle however always try to make it as efficient as u can by planning and optimizing your route.
Life is about planning take the tips from the reddit and find ur own way of delivering. Hope this helps stay safe out there and always check ur mirrors before u open door on main road 😩
