As I was walking to lunch a while ago I was stopped by a group of maybe teenagers who asked me what time it was, and after getting out my phone, as I checked and told the time, the guy who asked held out his phone close to mine (not touching, maybe a handbreadth) and his phone (not mine) made that ping sound. Before I could finish asking what that was about, they’d gone off.

Anyone else experience this?
