Advice for Whistler Trip
I’ll be traveling to Whistler from Vancouver for three days in July. I’m hoping to get some hiking in, and I’m struggling to decide whether to rent a car for those three days.
It seems that I can take the Skylynx to/from Whistler, and I could always rent a car for a day at the Whistler Avis if I wanted to do a hike outside of Whistler (e.g. Joffre Lakes). This option is cheaper, but with less flexibility/more logistics to coordinate.
Alternatively, I could just rent a car in Vancouver and drive myself there and back. This would be more expensive, but if it’s going to be a much better experience, I’m willing to pay.
Thoughts? Are there enough hikes accessible by public transportation in Whistler that a car rental would be a wasted expense? I know the drive between Vancouver and Whistler is scenic — will I wish I had the flexibility to make stops along the way?
