Favorite place to go for a picnic or just...be?

Hi Reddit,

Tomorrow is my birthday, wooo! I always celebrate by taking the day off and doing something nice for myself in nature. Since it'll be a little hot with a chance of rain, I'm not too keen on a big hike (maybe a small one) or planning the whole day around swimming (although a dip in the water would be nice). So I think I'd just like to find a place to have a little picnic, read a book, and enjoy some nice scenery. I'm in the Barre/Montpelier area but I'm willing to drive for an hour or so -- in fact, a new area to explore might be nice because I've spent many hours at Hubbard Park, NBNC, etc. So, along the Lake? Stowe? The NEK? I'm open!

Edit: Thank you to everyone for the suggestions! Saving all of these for future birthdays, too!

What is this houseplant I found in a free pike?

Any advice for keeping it alive would also be appreciated!
