IBD Support for CKD Cat
Hi All,
My boy is 17 and was diagnosed with CKD about 5 years ago. His levels have remained pretty steady after switching him to Hills K/D. At his last checkup the vet noticed he was bloated and along with some intermittent episodes of vomiting, she suspects he may have IBD.
Lately the vomiting has gotten more persistent and he often clearly doesn't feel well. He occasionally will have some looser stool but it's usually more on the harder side, consistent with kidney disease.
I started him on the Royal Canin probiotic that has 2.5 billion CFUs of S. boulardii. I thought it was helping but he's started to vomit more frequently again. Are there any other probiotic treatments that you've used to help support IBD in a renal cat?
He also gets quite a number of other supplements, including cobalequin (B12), imuquin, and dasuquin.
