My car was broken into :(

My car was broken into around 7 am this morning at the planet fitness in holt. They completely busted out my window. I’ve already filed a police report, but I feel super violated. Has this happened to people before in this area? Also, I feel like there are always people in that parking lot and was wondering if anyone saw anything. Thank you!

For reference, I am a 24-year-old woman with very little car knowledge, and I’ve only had used hand-me-down vehicles, so I also have no car-buying experience.

I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee with almost 230,000 miles on it. It stalls out and shuts off almost every time I get gas, and two mechanics have told me it’s not worth spending the money to try to figure it out. I also recently found out it needs a new tie rod, and basically the whole suspension will need to be replaced sooner rather than later, among some other small things.

I don’t have a bunch of money to get a new car, but a few people have told me a new car is a good option because you’re covered by a warranty. Because of my budget, I’m limited to something like a Buick Envista, Chevrolet Trax, or something around that price range. My biggest goal is to have something reliable that I won’t have to worry about for a while.

I love my car, and I love not having a car payment, but I also don’t want to sink money into a car known for being unreliable when it already has 230,000 miles on it.

Any insight is appreciated and thank you in advance!
