What is your top end limit of what you consider fits the bill of an affordable watch for this sub? I realize this is subjective for everyone. For me, anything over about CDN $800 would move it out of this category.

My vft was looking decent but without much colour, so I moved it closer to the grow light. After a couple of weeks I am starting to see more red in the traps, but I am also seeing a lot more traps going yellow, then black and dying. Am I now too close to the light? It went from about 40 cm to now about 20 cm (full spectrum LED).
Also, I would like to let it spend the summer outside on my back deck. Is that advisable? It's never been outside since I bought it.
How slow/gradual should the transition be to make sure it stays healthy?
