Prototype testing: diy plate loadable mace

This is the first draft of a plate load adjustable mace I sketched up really quick. Basically the classic iorn pipe style, butnwith a few tweaks. The head is 1.25" steal pipe + steel base plate with a tpu shell over it so it basically indestructible, wooden handle, tpu pommel. Total weight of the unloaded mace is 5lbs All in its about $35 -40 for parts and printer filament. Tested up to 40lbs in plates so 45lb total and its holding up so far.

Theres still a few tweaks i need , like an internal sleeve to center the handle and fill in the 2mmish gap between the pipe inner diameter and the pole diameter, but for the 1st draft its surprisingly functional. Handle is still ongoing because im not sure what length i want it, and also I enjoy a long handle slow swing with a lot of leverage.

Diy Semi adjustable maces in action.

I had a few people ask me what the collar was on my DIY gada. Its a sleeve so I can add a couple of Olympic plates and have semi adjustable maces, but they still feel like a traditional gada. It let's me workout with multiple weights but I only have to have a couple maces taking up space in my livingroom, vs dedicating a whole corner force storage. Here's them in action on a drop set with 42lb, 32lb, 27lb, and 22lb.

Relaxing evening swings in the garden

Fist day in a long time that I had the evening free and it wasn't raining, so I brought the DIay 30lb gada out to the garden for some chill swinging.
