Not made for short people

Not made for short people

Here’s something interesting I discovered as a short person in my 2026 NX350. I’m too short to get into the car without hitting my head. Why you ask? Especially when my 6’ husband has no problem? I’m 5’2”.

Here’s why.
The exit setting only goes back and forth. It does not have the ability to go up and down, like the RX. Even though the seats have the capacity to go up and down, the programming of the exit mode can’t be changed (I’m told)

So because I’m short, I have my seat raised higher to see over the dash. When I turn off the car, the seat slides back, steering wheel tilts up and I step out. But because of the sleek, lower profile of the window frame, coming back in does not allow me the headroom to step in (right leg first, followed by my bum and finally my left leg.). Can’t be done without ducking or hitting my head on the top window frame.

My husband’s seat for driving is set much lower to the floor, so when he exits the vehicle, it slides back the same way, but it’s already lower to the floor.

Common Lexus, I expected more from a luxury car like this. How ridiculous. My 2012 RX had the ability to move back and down on the exit mode.

My work around is to set the the programmable seat button 3 to an acceptable exit mode. That means remembering to press it going out of the car, and hitting my driving button #1 coming back in. What a pain! 😡

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I’d love to hear.

Screen protector

I just got a brand new white 2026 Lexus NX 350. I’ve never had a touchscreen in my car before and I’m wondering if most people are using some kind of screen protector? I plan to have this car for at least 10 years. I just sold my RX 350 which was 16 years old, I tend to keep my cars for a long time. I’d like to hear peoples thoughts on a screen protector.

If you do use one, please share where you bought it and who installed it. Thanks.😊
