Fraud? Don't expect any help from Amazon
I've been a Prime Member and used Amazon WAY too much over the past few years. Over the past two weeks, there's been heaps of fraudulent charges on my Amazon account. Multiple gift cards purchased. I locked my card, removed all payment methods, changed password even changed my email.
4 different customer service representatives told me all orders were cancelled and I would be automatically refunded. They also said a specialist team would be in touch and I was given an email to use. The charges went through on my card. My bank asked for all order numbers for a fraud investigation and after asking Amazon a few times, I finally received them (they were deleted from my "orders" page).
A couple of days later, more charges over $1500 came through on a different card that I had used on there even though all payment methods had been removed and all security measures taken. Somehow my email was changed back to my old email as well.
I asked Amazon to assist with the order numbers as nothing was showing on my order page so the numbers could be provided to the bank. They would not provide them and instead sent this email:
| Hello,Thank you for reaching out to Amazon. As we outlined in our previous emails, your bank is responsible for refunding the unauthorized charges to your credit or debit card. You have 90 days from the date of the unauthorized transaction to report this to the bank, who will then proceed to credit your account. As we have now explained the process for recovering unauthorized charges, we will not respond to further emails on this issue.Account SpecialistAmazon.com.auhttps://www.amazon.com.au |

I've asked multiple times to cancel my account and have everything permanently deleted. The account is still open even though it keeps getting locked because of more fraudulent activity. Meanwhile I keep getting notifications to "sign in and confirm order". There are no payment methods left and all cards that were ever used on there were cancelled. But the lack of assistance, rudeness and incorrect information has been very frustrating and disappointing.
I guess I just want to put this out there so if you're using Amazon and your account gets hacked, don't expect any help from them.
