Fobbed off and told I’ve got ringworm without proper assessment
It’s been 2 months as of yesterday that I found the herald patch on my back, it’s since grown triple the size it initially was and has slowly started to fade. My stomach and sides are covered in lesions that started off as pinprick spots around 2/3 weeks after finding the herald patch and have since grown larger. I seem to be developing the patches in crops every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. Not itchy at all except after a hot gym session and even then it’s minimal. I went to the GP today as over the last 2-3 days I’ve noticed small scaly patches now appearing on my arms & legs (only a few). Given all of this info, she didn’t even look at my stomach, took 1 look at the herald patch and told me it was ringworm. After I explained the timeline matches PR exactly (felt run down, herald patch a week later, few spots appearing a few weeks after that etc) and I would rather be tested first to confirm before jumping into an antifungal treatment that I have to pay for & considering it’s been 2 months already. She told me I was wrong, it can’t be PR because that only appears on the upper back & chest(?) which after 2 months of extensive research I know is completely wrong. Just at my wits end with it all and today she really put the nail in the coffin. It’s the middle of summer and Ive had to be so cautious about what I wear, now having to cover my arms and legs because it’s spreading. I got the antifungal cream anyway because she was so insistent but I’m 99% sure it’s going to be useless, no idea how to go about getting a derm appointment
