for speechcraft, can one toastmaster offer it by themselves? or would i need a full team of toastmasters to offer it to the attendees.
how do you do speechcraft in a corporate environment? i can't invite people in for security and it's during business hours.
so would i be able to fulfill all the roles, or do i really need a team? in a normal meeting, i can definitely multi-task, and i can explain roles quickly to people, if need be. i can easily adjust a role so that a guest can do it.
what's at stake ... if i need a full team, then i can't do speechcraft for my company. i'd have to think of something else. if i can do it myself, then i'd think of suggesting it.
what does it take to start a corporate club? when you're a part of that corporate world?
and how do you present the idea? do you have to come up with a business plan?
the powerpoint presentation for saa hasn't been updated in decades, apparently.
the saa role is only explained from the perspective of in person meetings.
so, what does the saa do for online meetings?
i want our saa to be in charge of the zoom platform. the password, the link, and setting up zoom for each meeting (or assigning that responsibility to someone else in their absence). we have to transition to a new zoom account, so i'd like them to take the lead on the research and making that happen.
i bought myself flowers. pink garden roses. they just arrived so i've a good week to enjoy them.
i invited 30 people to an event. i've had 10 confirm that they want to attend online. the other 20, i haven't heard from them. they can pick online or in person attendance.
the last time i tried an invite, the attendance was split differently -- 8 people in person and 4 online. but now it looks like everyone's taking the online route. all the RSVPs have come in for online attendance.
i get why. it's far away, but it's causing issues.
the issue i have with people going online -- every guest being online -- is that the number is high, but you really only see 8 or 12 people on screen. after that, the remaining visitors are sent to a different page. so after a while, there's no real point of having a large number for an audience-feeling. you lose the connection to the audience and it doesn't feel like a big audience at all.
i really invited them to create a sense of an audience.
plus, having to be a zoom master for a room with 30+ people is kind of annoying. letting people in, ensuring their muted, etc. it's more manageable with 10-16ish people.
if i get more RSVP's that pick online attendance, can i start to say that "thanks for interest. i'd love to have you attend, but unfortunately, everyone i invited is also choosing online attendance so i've to implement a limit for online attendance."
or ... thanks for your interest, but unfortunately we've reached our maximum for online attendance. if you want to attend in person, please let me know.
would that be good etiquette?
or do i have to send the online link to everyone who RSVPs as that being good etiquette?
