How do I ask for a raise without angering management?

I've been at my job for 2.5 years, and last year i had two coworkers hired who i love. I came in with prior experience, they had none. Come to find out, one of them (not sure about the other) gets paid over 10k more than i do. I have a busier desk (even they admitted). I feel like i should at least get the same rate, but i dont even know if thats possible based on how raises work at our place of work. without giving too much away, we are AMLaw100 but only get yearly raises and bonuses.

How do i ask to raise me at least to what she gets without throwing her under the bus? I mostly want it because i am paying off student loans, and with the SAVE plan ending, I'll definitely have to pay more.

Austin to Chicago - Neighborhoods for a young couple?

hi guys! my boyfriend and i (f) have basically decided to move to Chicago next year once our lease here in Austin is up, so plenty of time, but wanted to hear from others what neighborhood you think would be best for us.

We're both 26, latinos (mexican and guatemalan) who want to live in/near a community where we have access to latin as well as other cultural foods and communities. we love a dive bar scene mostly, as well as a winery/brewery vibe sometimes. Both love running/working out, and very into music scenes of any kind, and collect vinyls.

Most likely will both be working downtown, and dont necessarily mind a drive as long as its less than an hour.

would also love to know neighborhoods to steer clear of, high crime traffic since I sometimes walk our dog alone, or very white areas where if we enter a restaurant and see we're the only brown people we might feel odd lol.

From my research this far, i've gathered that Pilsen, Wicker Park, Logan Square, and maybe Bronzeville would be good options for us, but would love to know what yall think!

Also would love to know your favorite bars around town if you have any!

also if ur from texas, id love to hear abt ur experience moving and any advice :)

tyia :)
